Martin joined Headlands in 2024, bringing 18 years of hands-on farming experience, five of those within New Zealand’s dairy industry. Originally from South Africa and now based in Taranaki, he combines practical on-farm knowledge with a background in electronics and systems integration.

At Headlands, Martin works across both the core Headlands business and the Afimilk product systems, playing a key role in supporting the technology system that help farmers work smarter and more efficiently, supporting their bottom line. With a deep understanding of the day-to-day demands of modern farming, he’s passionate about using technology and data to reduce hassle, improve decision-making, and drive sustainable, profitable outcomes on farm.

Martin believes that when the right systems are in place, and built with farmers in mind, they make a real difference where it counts - on-farm, every day.

"I’m all about making systems work smarter, not harder. I focus on simplifying pain points and getting things running smoothly, whether it involves helping farmers with the tools they need on-farm or refining the tech behind the scenes.

Precision farming isn’t just a trend, as it's becoming more important in day-to-day operations. With better data, we can make smarter decisions that lead to more profitable and sustainable farming.
